Our ethos
Design is not merely a visual pursuit; it is a sensory dialogue between the observer and the environment.
ALEXIS VAUTIER, CREATIVE DIRECTOR
A legacy of light
Founded in 2014 as a roasting atelier, AUREA grew into a full sensory program—bridging digital precision with human warmth. We treat the cafe as a slow medium: each service is an edition, not an algorithm.
Today we host tastings, publish a journal on craft, and welcome guests who seek rooms where sound, scent, and tempo are composed with the same care as the cup.
The journey
The inception
A single-drum roastery and cupping lab opens in a converted print hall.
The digital shift
Reservations, journal, and member profiles move to a unified stack—still human-led.
The editorial era
Launch of the Sensory Menu framework: seasonal chapters, limited releases, guest roasters.
Core pillars
Bespoke curation
Every touchpoint is edited—menu rhythm, acoustic dampening, the angle of morning light on the bar.
Material honesty
Stone, brass, linen, and wood age with the room. We choose surfaces that record time beautifully.
Intentional void
Negative space is not emptiness; it is where attention rests. We design silence as a luxury good.
